Freezy Yog
With Freezy Yog, Brussels has got its very own frozen yoghurt parlour. Topped with a fruity sauce or sprinkles, it’s a great treat on sunny days.
The shop opened last August. As Belgian weather doesn’t always call for ice cream to cool down, Freezy Yog serves cupcakes and other sweet treats too. But as soon as the temperatures hit high enough, and it wasn’t raining … I visited Freezy Yog for a cup of frozen delight.
There are three sizes to choose from (S-M-L) and three flavours as well (plain – red fruits – a mix of both). I went for a small mix of both – which isn’t that small at all, see picture- covered with a raspberry sauce. I paid 4 euro and left the shop happy and hungry.
Because yoghurt is more runny than regular ice cream, it’s a lot easier to eat. But, easy means fast, and fast with frozen stuff means ‘brain freeze’. Good times though, having a brain freeze on the nearby Grand Place.
For more daring combinations, try frozen yoghurt with coconut sprinkles, speculoos crumble or a crunchy mix of hundreds and thousands. The frozen yoghurt is supposed to be ‘healthy’ and fat free, but nobody mentions anything about the sugar. Oh heck …. mmmmmm.
