Sweet & Savory
You can’t miss this big eatery, located on the busy crossroads of Chaussée de Charleroi and Chaussée de Waterloo. It’s a new-ish spot, serving lunch, brunch and treats for afters.
It took me a while to visit the place. At first I was a bit put off by the dark pink signs, but when I noticed every time I walked passed the place was busy, I had to go and check it out.
Sweet & Savory has two entrances. One that leads to the seating area, another one that gives way to the counter and little grocery store. That’s where I ended up. The shelves on the right side are packed with tea (Kusmi, mainly), biscuits, jams, and there is a freezer with frozen delights including New York bagels. The counter on the left showcases quiches, tarts, pies, muffins … all the good stuff.
The seating area is quite cozy, although it looks a bit dated (despite the place being new-ish). The savoury menu features salads, sandwiches, quiche, but also hot dishes including meatballs in tomato sauce. They make brunch as well, of which I’ve heard mixed reviews. To be tested!
