Garage à Manger

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on October 21, 2013 in Coffee, Drink, Eat, Ixelles, Sunday

Garage à Manger is a new eatery, located in the old Mazda garage in Ixelles. It’s connected to second-hand book shop Pêle-Mêle on Chaussée de Waterloo as well. Books and healthy food, what’s not to like?

Kis Mad

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on October 15, 2013 in Eat, Ixelles, Saint-Gilles, Sunday

I’m not the best cook in the world. But I love to spend time in the kitchen, browse the web and books for recipes and visit shops for unusual ingredients. Kis Mad was on my radar for a while, and now I finally visited the shop.

Hard Rock Café

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on October 6, 2013 in Burgers, City Centre, Drink, Eat, Sunday

Every now and then you need a break. And some good friends, comfort food and cocktails to forget about everything else. Hard Rock Café on Grand Place turned out to be the perfect place for all the above. (Yes, we did feel like tourists, but that’s part of the experience).

Aksum Coffee House, the Ethiopian coffee place, recently moved locations, from Rue Haute to Rue des Eperonniers, behind Grand Place. Time for a visit and a cup of coffee!

Il Gelato

People in Uccle are spoilt for choice when it comes to ice cream flavours. And down Rue Vanderkindere, Glacier Zizi and Il Gelato are stiff competitors. When one day, the queue at Zizi really was way too long, I joined the shorter queue at Il Gelato.

Siblingsfactory

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on September 12, 2013 in City Centre, Clothes, Sunday

Well, this must Brussels’ hottest shop at the moment. Located in the Dansaert area, Siblingsfactory is a stunning concept store with some great fashion labels, vintage furniture, magazines and a cool bunch of large cacti (yes, they deserve a mention too).

B & S

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on September 11, 2013 in Coffee, Eat, Sunday, Uccle

B & S or Brother & Sister is a healthy eatery in Uccle. I’m not too keen on their baby blue interior, but their menu is delicious and I entirely agree with their tag line ‘All you feed is love’.

Filigranes

This huge book store is just perfect. Books, magazines, newspapers, notebooks, art, gifts, a food and coffee corner… you could easily spend hours at Filigranes. Browsing and reading at its best.

Tout bon

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on July 31, 2013 in City Centre, Coffee, Drink, Eat, Sunday

To be honest, I was actually on my way to Karsmakers for an early lunch and coffee. But they were closed, so I had to find something nearby to still my hunger and caffeine cravings.  I ended up at Tout Bon, which -despite the negative reviews I read online- turned out to be a nice […]

ICI Epicerie fine / néo-cantine

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on July 18, 2013 in Coffee, Drink, Eat, Ixelles, Sunday

Healthy food in all shapes and colours, that’s what ICI is all about. This little eatery is located near Place Brugmann and has a menu with something for everybody: from a ham and cheese sandwich to beef salad or a slice of homemade fruit tart.
