Sophie Chocolat

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on September 2, 2013 in Coffee, Eat, Ixelles

A bit tucked away behind Place Stephanie, Sophie Chocolat is an eatery with sweet and salty food, great coffee and free wifi. The shop’s speciality is the home-made chocolate fondant (moelleux au chocolat).

.Albert

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on August 27, 2013 in Drink, Eat, Ixelles

After a well-deserved holiday break, I’m back. And so are the many eateries that closed their doors for the summer holidays. Point Albert was high on my ‘to visit’ list, and I finally got the chance to have lunch in this new-ish eatery. What a treat!

Filigranes

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on August 8, 2013 in City Centre, Homeware, Ixelles, Sunday, Uccle

This huge book store is just perfect. Books, magazines, newspapers, notebooks, art, gifts, a food and coffee corner… you could easily spend hours at Filigranes. Browsing and reading at its best.

Healthy food in all shapes and colours, that’s what ICI is all about. This little eatery is located near Place Brugmann and has a menu with something for everybody: from a ham and cheese sandwich to beef salad or a slice of homemade fruit tart.

After the rain comes sun. Which is exactly what shoe lovers must feel when walking in this pretty boutique near Place Brugmann. Rupert Sanderson, Robert Clergerie, Avril Gau, Tila March… flats, heels, brogues, pumps… they have it all.

Sales

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on June 29, 2013 in City Centre, Clothes, Homeware, Ixelles

July is all about sales. And while I really don’t need anything at all (in fact, the one thing I truly do need would be an extra wardrobe), I will probably have a look at all my favourite shops to see if they have anything left from my wishlist, in my size (and at a […]

Belwatech

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on June 23, 2013 in Homeware, Ixelles

Those who know me will agree I’m rarely seen without my smart phone. I use it to tell time, read e-mails, update Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, call, text … non-stop. So when my dear iphone’s microphone stopped working, I was in trouble.

Boutique Sorcière

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on June 20, 2013 in Beauty, Ixelles

This new beauty shop in Ixelles is a gem! Natural skin care, made and developed in Belgium by Madame Delbôve about 50 years ago and now relaunched by Gina, one of her loyal customers. The boutique’s best seller is the ‘Crème sorcière’ (witch cream), a formula so effective somebody once referred to it as witch […]

La Canne en Ville

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on June 17, 2013 in Eat, Ixelles

La Canne en Ville is a small restaurant located in an old butcher’s. The menu is limited but lists a couple of great dishes (who needs a menu that reads like a book anyway). I made my reservations via mytable.com

Sounds Jazz Club

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on June 9, 2013 in Drink, Eat, Ixelles, music

Located just off Place Fernand Cocq, Sounds Jazz Club is the place to be in the area if you’re after live music. The small stage has been the scene for some great jazz performers since it opened in 1986. But wether there’s a big name lined up or not, the vibe is always right.
