Located in the entrance hall of a former movie theatre, this small eatery is a true gem. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon and after-work treats like you haven’t seen before (or at least, not in Brussels).

Garage à Manger is a new eatery, located in the old Mazda garage in Ixelles. It’s connected to second-hand book shop Pêle-Mêle on Chaussée de Waterloo as well. Books and healthy food, what’s not to like?

Hard Rock Café

Every now and then you need a break. And some good friends, comfort food and cocktails to forget about everything else. Hard Rock Café on Grand Place turned out to be the perfect place for all the above. (Yes, we did feel like tourists, but that’s part of the experience).

.Albert

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on August 27, 2013 in Drink, Eat, Ixelles

After a well-deserved holiday break, I’m back. And so are the many eateries that closed their doors for the summer holidays. Point Albert was high on my ‘to visit’ list, and I finally got the chance to have lunch in this new-ish eatery. What a treat!

Tout bon

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on July 31, 2013 in City Centre, Coffee, Drink, Eat, Sunday

Sounds Jazz Club

Posted by Bruxelles la Belle on June 9, 2013 in Drink, Eat, Ixelles, music

Located just off Place Fernand Cocq, Sounds Jazz Club is the place to be in the area if you’re after live music. The small stage has been the scene for some great jazz performers since it opened in 1986. But wether there’s a big name lined up or not, the vibe is always right.

Jat’ Café

There’s a new coffee bar in town, down Rue de Namur to be precise. It’s called Jat’ Café, after the Brussels word jat, which means coffee mug. On the menu: coffee in all flavours, bagels, salads, cakes and more.

A no-nonsense bar on Rue du Bailli, with a nice terrace, cheap drinks and always a good vibe. Crowded on Wednesdays, when the Chatelain market is on.
