Les Trouvailles de Louise

Love coffee? Love homemade cake? Love rare teas and jams from the other side of the world? Me too! And Les Trouvailles de Louise is the place to visit to discover all of it.

Lovely. That’s how I’d describe this tea-room cum little grocery in Schaerbeek. You’ll find it just off the big Avenue Louis Bertrand.

The front of the place is a little shop with spices from exotic countries, crisps, all sorts of tea, jams and chocolate. Little treats in a pretty package. The rest of the shop is a tea-room with charming tables, set with china plates and cups.

But who is Louise? The host and baker of Les Trouvailles. Originally from the Philippines, she came to Brussels a while ago and decided to try her luck opening a tea-room in Schaerbeek.

I’m so glad she did, because Les Trouvailles is such a genuine gem. The banana muffins, the carrot cake, the chocolate brownies are divine. The English breakfast is very tasty, and the sunny garden is a big asset!

290, Rue du Josaphat, closed on Wednesdays, open from 11.00-18.00 on other days (from 09.00 onwards on Saturdays)
