therapyThere’s a new tea shop near the Churchill roundabout, called Thé-rapy. On the windows, you can see Sigmund Freud sip from a pink cup of tea. There are plenty of flavours to choose from, to suit your every mood.

The tea is stored in big red tins, and is branded Lindfield (a label I’d never heard of before. It’s from Brittany). Owner Katie always wanted to run her own tea shop, but never really got round to it. Until she turned 50 and decided to go for it after all.

Great idea, I think. As there wasn’t really a tea shop/room in the area. Unfortunately, administrative paperwork take their time, which means Thé-rapy is still awaiting its tea room permission. But if you’re in the area, let nothing stop you from visiting the shop and pick a bag of loose tea leaves for a brew at home. Tried, tested and very much approved: Irish Cream and Vanilla Rooibos. Sweet and flavourful, a nice change from all the coffee I drink.

Thé-rapy comes with a little ‘treats corner’ as well, including biscuits and chocolates, pretty shaped sugar cubes, jams and jellies and the like.

214 Rue Vanderkindere, open from Tuesday until Saturday, between 10.00-18.30
