Le Typographe

Le TypographeChristmas is the time of the year we all send each other greeting cards. Some of them are ugly, some delicate, some kitsch … If you’ve had enough of that, Le Typographe sells a great alternative: quality paper ones with a simple print, handmade in Brussels.

The shop and ‘factory’ are located in a big mansion in Ixelles. There’s classical music playing in the background, and paper and stationary items on shelves and tables.

During the holidays, the greeting cards are the most popular. Printed with an old Heidelberg letter press, they come in a couple of sizes and colours. If you’re going for something unique, you can make your own by choosing paper, envelopes and draw or write your own design (the choice is overwhelming), or go for a special print and ask the staff at Le Typographe for help.

The shop is perfect for last-minute gift picking as well. From notebooks, to do-lists and calendars (all made in-house) to fancy writing pens and pouches to store your pencils.

And while it might be too late to buy this year’s Christmas cards and have them sent on time, think about Le Typographe for next year (or any upcoming birthday). You can’t go wrong with made in Brussels.

67 Rue Américaine, open from Monday until Friday between 13.00-18.00, Saturday from 11.30-18.00
