La Luna

La Luna probably is the most charming and authentic Italian restaurant in town. A limited menu of homemade food, funny waiters and a real mama overlooking both kitchen and restaurant.

The restaurant is not very large and the interior is a bit dated, but I wouldn’ t want it any other way. The big stone oven at the entrance spreads a nice heat and makes the whole place smell of oregano.

I usually order a pizza, my all-time favourite pasta all’arrabbiata or their ricotta canelloni. To drink, they always suggest ‘cold red wine’, which I wouldn’t normally go for, but at La Luna, it works!

From the little pizza dough balls you get for starter to the Amaretto to round off your meal, the service is great. La mama comes to check if everthing’s ok every now and then, and the waiters are always in a good mood. The later it gets in the evening, the bigger the chance you’ll find yourself singing an Italian classic with them (Gente di Mare!).

On top of all that, La Luna isn’t expensive at all and does take-away service as well.

231-233, Chaussée de Jette, closed Saturday for lunch and Sunday
