Village Verve
Multi-brand store Village Verve opened a new shop uptown! Think MM6, Kenzo, Sass & Bide, Surface to Air, Dagmar and much more (women’s wear only). You’ll find the shop on Rue du Bailli.
FamousBox
I’m a fan of Mellow Yellow, an affordable French shoe label that used to have its own store in Rue Dansaert. Not anymore unfortunately. Luckily there’s a large selection available via FamousBox. Yes, an online shop, but they’re based in Brussels!
Marc by Marc Jacobs
And there it is. Finally. A post on the Marc by Marc Jacobs store. The shop opening got delayed by more than a year, but the entire Marc by Marc Jacobs collection is now available in Brussels.
Summer sales
During the month of July, nearly every shop in Brussels will be clearing its stock. The summer sales equal great bargains, but also long queues at the fitting rooms and cash desks. Here are my favourite shops to score a good deal.
Les Enfants d’Edouard
This could well be the oldest vintage/second-hand shop in Brussels. It has been open for almost 40 years, and was founded by two friends whose father was called Edouard (hence the name).
Autour du Monde
French designer Serge Bensimon’s concept store Autour du Monde is a must-visit for people who like colours. The most famous items at the shop are the canvas ‘tennis’ shoes, available in all colours of the rainbow.
Louise 54
Probably Brussels most fancy multi-brand store, with all the top brands you read about in high end fashion magazines. Céline, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Marni, Alexander McQueen …. pretty!
Virt & Real store
Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Virt & Real store stocks some amazing brands. No need to browse online and pay extra shipping costs, just get your pair of designer kicks at the shop in Brussels.
No Concept Market
I’m a big fan of the No Concept fashion stores, because of their great selection of brands and clothes. The team opened a new shop in Uccle, including a little eatery and space for home decoration, on top of their ever-so-large range of clothes.
Idiz Bogam
Exciting news! I just walked through Rue Haute and noticed a new shop: none other than the new Idiz Bogam, our city’s most famous vintage shop (the old one closed down in Rue Dansaert, after fifteen years of business).
